Today we took another assessment of chapter 3 standards. We have been working to improve our skills throughout the year, so we have retested chapter 3. I am very pleased with how hard some of you were working.
Highlights:
Per. 2: Biggest individual improvements: 55%(D) to 90%(A) and 45%(F) to 80% (B).
Per. 3: Biggest class improvement: class average from 73.8% to 81.3%.
Per. 5: Two students improved their semester 1 grades by one letter in this class.
Collectively we have had 5 students improve their semester 1 grades so far: one student went from a D to a C, 2 students went from a C to a B, and 2 students went from a B to an A.
Prepare for the next retest on Friday. Some students have already changed their semester 1 grades for the better. Who will be next?

does anybody know what the other assignment was? like the one to do instead of the journal?

An alternate assignment was available to those who came to speak to me. However, the assignment would take more time than you can accomplish in one night. It needs to be comparable to what students are getting credit for that they spent the whole year completing. Right?
