- Starting with a quadratic equation in Standard Form
- Move the constant to the right side of the equation
- Divide through by a if a is not equal to 1
- Complete the square (add it to both sides)
- Turn the left side into the square of a binomial and add the fractions on the right side (you need the same denominator)
- Take the square root of both sides; remember the right side is plus or minus
- Add to both sides to get x by itself
- Box both values of x

Hi Mr. Gerson. Thanks so much for posting the steps on what we learned about yesterday. I will add that to my notes. By the way, is your title supposed to (actually) be Completing the Square? If it is not, then/than that is a very funny sounding mathematical term. I hope someone else posts up a comment. There is like no one(except for a few people) commenting these days. Sorry for my long comment.
