Warm-Up for Chapter 6

You should have received a two-sided worksheet in class. You were matching a product of polynomials (mostly binomials) to its equivalent polynomial (usually a trinomial). You should have been able to finish in class.

Aurora's fever has broken, so I should be back tomorrow. We will begin factoring. You will need to know the following algorithm:

Remove the Greatest Monomial Factor.

If 2 terms,

• Check for the Difference of Two Squares.

if 3 terms,

• Check for a Perfect Square Trinomial
• Factor x^2 + bx + c
• Factor ax^2 + bx + c
  

If 4 terms,

• Factor by Grouping

ALWAYS FACTOR COMPLETELY!
