Addition/Subtraction Property of Equality has a horizontal way or vertical way. Multiplication Property of Equality needs to be written as division and then as multiplication. Become comfortable with those fractions.

i understand the concept of vertical and horrizontal but does any one need any help with it.
i didnt understand why we had to do it the hard way when we could just say that
x-3=-7
-7+3=-4
x=-4

You are using so many properties in one step: symmetric property, addition property, and skipping lots more. How will you identify them when we get to proofs?

A really good thing to do is what Mr. Gerson said in class, to color code your work it really helps you to understand it better
