Trey, you are right we pay 600$ then we dont pay the last amount until April 5th i beleive he said, because if more people go, the price decreases, but the less people go it will just be 200$.

no homework?!?!

@D.C. There are a lot of variables. When you turn-in the $600 deposit, your airfare can be purchased. That price will go up and down almost daily, so it is the hardest to predict. The next variable is how many people attend. The price for the tour was based on double occupancy. That means 2 people per room. The room is cheaper when 3 people share and even cheaper when 4 people share. Three people cannot start sharing until after we reach 21 people. Remember, I'm not sharing a room. Four people per room would start after 31 people. We also receive a free person (tour only) after 20 people. That amount will be divided up amongst everyone. Depending on the number of people attending, that amount will change, but the final amount due will be decreased because of it. Now do you kind of understand why the final amount is not exact?

Paige H. Per.4 said...

oh, ok because my parents wanted to know exactly how much its going to cost...

Natasha L Per.4 TA said...

paige, Mr. Gerson just explained that we don't know the final amount, because of the prices of airfaire change daily depending what day we will buy the tickets. Also it matters on how many people are coming..

wat kind of calculator do we need to buy for this class?

MLYHOOPS said...

was it scientific? graphing? and does it have to be a specific one?

MLYHOOPS said...

please respond!

Eric X. Per. 3 TA said...

We don't really need to use calculators...

Mr. Gerson said...

@DC That is why the first amount I said was to estimate $1950.

Calculators are not required. TI-84 Plus Silver Editions are what I would buy if I could buy everyone a calculator.

Mr. Gerson said...

@DC the amount of the airfare has increased quite a bit in the last week and a half. Now we are at $1964 total. It was $1889. If you click the Washington D.C. 2011 tab, you will see the price of the tour. That will not change. Your airfare will until you book it.

Mr. Gerson said...

@DC we can drop the price back down to $1924, but we will lose half a day.

ok thanks eric
