Chapter 3 Sample Test

I was trying to enter problems into eTUSD, so I could setup a sample test for chapter 3. The guys downtown updated the software but did not reload the math editor. That is what I use to make the equations. I told them about it, and they fixed it. However, it did not leave me enough time to make the sample test for you. Sorry.

Hopefully, you took the Chapter Wrap-Up in class today seriously. It is the best way to study.

See you tomorrow for the test. I am still inputting questions into the computer, so we can try to use the clickers instead of Scantrons. Wish me luck.

Hi Mr. Gerson,
I went on eTUSD and it says there is a sample test.
Except when I click on the icon, it says you did not add anything. I just wanted to make sure that my computer was not working, or if you just did not add anything.
Okay thanks a lot, and also she did not collect our stamp sheets.

Kellie,
6x- 5= -2x+ 11
add 2x to both sides
8x-5= 11
add 5 to both sides
8x= 16
divide 8 on both sides
x= 2

Kellie- for number 27 you fist need to get 2x on the left side. To do this, add it to itself to cancel it out and then add 2x to 6x on the other side. You now have
8x - 5 = 11. Next, add 5 to itself to cancel it out, and then add 5 to 11. You now have 8x = 16. Now take the reciprocal of 8 (which is 1/8) and mutiply it first to itself to get x alone and then multiply 1/8 to 16. This will look like 1/8(8x) = 1/8(16). The answer to 1/8(16) is 2. The answer is 2.
Do you get it?

Karan, read the blog post and the other students' comments BEFORE you send a comment. That is good netiquette.

The guy sitting next to me at last night's meeting (yes, Mr. Gerson does other things besides school stuff all night even though he was entering test questions into his laptop during the meeting, so you could use the clickers) was reading some of the posts as I published them. He thought Hyun deserved extra credit.
