Multi-Step Equations (CA SS: 5.0)

I was absent today, but we just combined the two types of problems we solved yesterday. Click here and solve at least four problems.

Follow the link from here to use some virtual manipulatives.

Fold a piece of paper in fourths, so you can draw four of the problems you try.
Write a paragraph talking about the experience of using these virtual manipulatives.

Finish class assignment: p.127 (1-19:odd) and p.137 (1-19:odd).

Checked it out. Manipulatives work fine. Try updating JAVA if you do not have the most recent version.

What's jbwssyshf?

Sub should not stamp. That is for me. muahaha!

While I trust Mrs. M. Lee and hope she can sub when I am out, I do not let most subs stamp or collect things. Who was our sub? Was the sub someone we might ask back?

The sub didn't stamp anyone's homework. It was like that for all the classes.

The sub was Mr.S (I don't remember his last name, but we called him that). We finished our work in class, we were on task. So we would like to have that sub again... well we prefer if we have the sub again.

Do the virtual manipulatives have to be in pen and colored, and how many balance beams do we have to draw?

Hannah,

4x-7=3x
Subtract 4x from each side
-7 =-x
Find what x equals, not -x
7=x

Mr Gerson

I don't understand the manipulatives. can you help?

Hannah, your problem is 4x-7=3x.
First you must deduct 4x from each side. Then, you will have 0-7=-x, -7=-x. There is a negative one in front of the variable, so divide each side by -1, or multiply by -1/1. Now you will have 7=1x and then 7=x.

Grant, maybe you have to update Java or something like that.

for the manioulatives poster thingy, did we have to like draw 4 balance beams for each equation, or can we just put a line in the middle?
The sub was kind of ok

The sub was Mr. S he was nice. I liked him, but we didn't really do anything that required him to interact with us so we could not really see his well-being. Having him back would be nice! But what happened to Ms. Reita? She was nice!

The virtual manipulatives do not tell me that my solution is correct even when it is.

I get to

x=2

and it still prompts me for an action :/

They are ALL equivalent equations.
