Austin, you have a mistake in the second line. You skipped a step and therefore have a negative where there should be a positive and a positive where there should be a negative. The lesson is "don't skip steps".

Adam, on the second step, you have to do -6(2) before doing 7-6. then you'll get 7-12=-5, and then 8(-5)=-40. order of operations.

Instead of doing 7-6 and 4-2, you should do: -6(4)+ (-6)(-2)
So you should have: 8[7-24+12]
Now add all the numbers inside the brackets, which would equal -5.
8(-5)= -40
